Testimonials

"One term in, the G2G programme has gathered together some of our best athletes and a number with real potential. There have been regular meetings, mentoring and practical sessions which students have thoroughly enjoyed. They report feeling considerably more professional and particularly value the sports psychology workshops that are making a difference to them on match day. They are using the Apps to keep track of regimes and to ensure they can undertake effective flexibility work, for example.

As Head of PE, I have been most pleased with the individualisation from the G2G staff, who are approaching each athlete according to their current needs and development requirements, as sports range from motor cross to gymnastics. Pinch points have been highlighted in their training regimes and plans proposed in conjunction with parents to address these."

"The Goodness 2 Greatness initiative has been a powerful wake-up call for our whole school community.  It has been highly engaging, supportive and challenging for pupils and parents alike.  Key themes of Nutrition, Hydration, Sleep, Mental Well-being, Body Image, Screen time, etc. are addressed sensitively and pro-actively.  Through linking with inspirational, high quality professionals, our pupils have begun to really self-analyse and make deliberate well-being choices.  We are delighted with the impact of the work."

DAMIEN STENSON

HEADTEACHER, MOBBERLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

"The children enjoyed benefiting from the G2G scheme, which has included learning about healthy eating and how to keep fit. Children and their families have been encouraged to get involved through 'Walking to Tokyo', being challenged to try new foods and completing a wellness diary.  These experiences have happened through exciting activities such as Geocaching, smoothie making and an inflatable assault course.  All children from 4-11 have had the change to get involved with these engaging activities."

"As an amateur rugby player I had little concept of the demands of the professional game before I met James. Over the course of the years that I worked with him, he was instrumental in my physical and mental development and provided an excellent source of advice as I developed from a student into a professional athlete capable of succeeding at the highest level. I know that the foundations he helped me put in place continue to serve me well every day."

“The training environment and attention to detail that Scott provided created an enjoyable atmosphere which allowed me to keep developing as an athlete. I’m certain that this was one of the major factors allowing me to progress to the Olympic programme and compete on the world stage.”

James played a large part in a year that was to be the launchpad for my career. My time at Oxford University proved to be a bridge between amateur and professional rugby and he helped me think about things in a different way. This involved identifying and improving on my weaknesses whilst facilitating an environment for me in which I could express myself and flourish. I look back on the year working with James as being a formative but also very enjoyable time.

"Just wanted to say thank you for your instant support that made a difference in my daughters' s attitude towards sports already. Making a difference in her attitude seems to be the first steps in giving her a better chance and vision of her everyday lifestyle. Your patience, immediate and professional approach, proved a strong solid outcome. Its been a while since we've had an active 13 year old raring to train and give 100% again while prioritising her time already. James seemed confident and knowledgeable and immediately set a plan towards her challenging lifestyle and balance between school and sport. That is key and reassuring for me(mum). Both in terms of her current lazy/non-enthusiastic situation to a motivated, committed and inspired happy girl."
